Module area and demonstration

OfflinePropale area

The module adds a home page inside Dolibarr, reachable through Commercial > Commercial proposals > OfflinePropale area. It gathers what is needed to get a salesperson going and to follow the activity of the module.

QR code to reach the mobile application

The QR code encodes the URL of the mobile application, as filled in the Virtual host field of the setup. When that field is empty, the application served by the module itself is offered instead.

This is the quickest way to install the application on a phone: the salesperson scans the code with their phone camera, opens the link, then installs the PWA as described on the Installation page. The URL is also shown in plain text below the code, so it can be copied or sent as a message.

Module figures

The table on the right sums up the activity:

Indicator Contents
Offers recorded Number of offers received from the mobile devices
Total amount incl. tax Sum of the amounts of those offers
Conversion rate to proposals Share of offers turned into commercial proposals
Customers involved Number of distinct third parties on those offers
Products in the catalogue Number of items available to the mobile application
Site photos Number of terrain photos synced
Markers dropped on photos Number of annotations attached to those photos

Two shortcuts lead to the offer list and, for administrators, to the demonstration data page.

Demonstration data

The module can install a complete data set: catalogue of a given trade, customers, user accounts and ready-filled offers, photos included. That is what you want to evaluate the module, train a new salesperson or prepare a presentation, without typing anything in.

Reaching the page

Go to Home > Setup > Modules/Applications > OfflinePropale, then to the Demo tab.

Demonstration data generation page with the trade profile selector

Choosing a trade profile

The generated catalogue depends on the trade you pick. The profiles shipped cover among others:

  • Kitchen fitter
  • Electrician
  • Sign maker
  • Gardener / Landscaper, with several variants (irrigation, ponds, vegetable garden, furniture, and so on)
  • Joiner and fitter
  • Pool builder
  • Pizzeria / Italian restaurant
  • Plumber and heating engineer
  • Hardware store

Pick the profile closest to your activity: the products, prices and wordings will then speak for themselves during the demonstration.

Demonstration pictures

The catalogue illustrations are too heavy to ship with the module. The page states whether they are already installed and, if not, the Download pictures button fetches them from the publishing server.

Without pictures, generation still works: the catalogue simply comes with no illustrations.

Generating the data set

  1. Select the trade profile
  2. Tick the explicit acknowledgement box
  3. Click Generate data

A detailed report is shown at the bottom of the page once processing is over, along with any warnings.

Warning: Generation rewrites the whole existing demonstration data set. The acknowledgement box is mandatory precisely because the action is not harmless.

Demonstration accounts

Two accounts are created, with the password demo1234:

Username Profile
demo.commercial Field salesperson
demo.responsable Sales manager

They allow signing in to the mobile application and seeing the difference in visibility between a salesperson, who only sees their own offers, and a manager, who sees those of the whole team.

Important: These accounts and this password are public by design. Never install the demonstration data set on a production instance exposed to the internet.

Home page during the demonstration

As long as a demonstration data set is installed, the Dolibarr home page redirects to the module area, with an information banner: the QR code and the login accounts are therefore the first things shown.

An administrator who wants the usual dashboard back clicks Dolibarr dashboard from the module area. The choice is remembered for the whole session.

A user who has set their own landing page in their Dolibarr preferences is never redirected.

Purging the data

  1. Tick the explicit acknowledgement box
  2. Click Purge data

Everything created by the demonstration is removed: catalogue, customers, offers, photos and accounts. The Dolibarr home page goes back to its normal behaviour.

The purge never touches your real data. Every item created by the demonstration carries an import marker, shown on the page, which is what finds it and nothing else: a product or a customer you entered yourself is left alone, even if it carries the same name.
