# Getting started with the mobile application

## First launch

### Signing in

On first launch the login screen appears. Enter:

1. **Username**: your Dolibarr login
2. **Password**: your Dolibarr password
3. Tap **Sign in**

### Device identification

On first login the application records a unique identifier (UUID) for your device. This identifier makes it possible to trace which device created each offer.

### First synchronisation

After signing in, an initial synchronisation starts automatically. It downloads:

- The list of customers (third parties)
- The product and service catalogue
- The product categories
- The payment terms and payment methods
- The contacts
- Your company logo (for the PDF files)

> **Note:** This first synchronisation can take a few minutes depending on the size of your database. Prefer a Wi-Fi connection.

## Home screen

The home screen shows a dashboard with:

- **This month**: revenue incl. tax and number of documents
- **This quarter**: revenue incl. tax and number of documents
- **Conversion rate**: percentage of synced documents out of the total
- **Three creation buttons**:
  - **Quick offer**: quick creation through the category grid
  - **Full quote**: full form with all options
  - **Photo dossier**: photographic survey, described on the [Photo dossier](/offlinepropale/dossier-photo) page

## Navigation

### Sidebar

The sidebar is always available on the left-hand side. It holds:

- **Navigation**:
  - **Dashboard**: home screen
  - **Offers**: the list of your offers
  - **Third parties**: synced customer file
  - **Products**: synced product and service catalogue
  - **Settings**
- **Statistics**: document counter per status
- **Sync button**: starts a manual synchronisation
- **Logout**
- **Version number**: shown in small print under the logout button

The counter shown to the right of **Third parties** and **Products** gives the number of items held on the device. Both screens are described on the [Catalogue and customers](/offlinepropale/catalogue-clients) page.

On small screens the sidebar collapses automatically and shows icons only. Tap the chevron to expand it.

The version number, shaped like `1.0.15.7`, stays visible in both modes. The first three numbers are the module version, the last one the build number: that is the one changing with every release of the application. Quote it when asking for support, it states exactly which version is installed.

### Connection indicator

A status bar at the top of the screen constantly shows your connection state:

- **Online**: internet connection available
- **Offline**: no connection, offline mode active

The application works normally either way. Data is stored locally and synced once the connection is back.

### Calculator

A calculator is always available from the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, whatever page is displayed.

Handy for an area calculation or a commercial discount without leaving the offer being typed in.

## Application settings

Reach the settings from the sidebar. They are organised in tabs:

### Offers tab

- **Personal prefix**: your initials, 4 characters maximum, to identify your offers
- **Date format**: date part of the reference
- **Counter reset**: monthly, yearly or never
- **Reference preview**: shows the result of the three settings above
- **Title shown on PDF**: customise the title printed on the generated PDF (for instance "OFFER", "ESTIMATE", "PROPOSAL", "PURCHASE ORDER")

The personal prefix is what tells your offers apart from those of your colleagues as long as they have not been synced. Fill it in before your first appointment: it is what prevents two offers carrying the same number on two different devices.

### Business tab

Default values offered for every new offer: VAT rate, payment terms and method, validity period, discount.

Set properly, these values save you from typing the same commercial terms in at every appointment.

### Sync tab

- **Dolibarr server URL**: address of the synchronisation server
- **Automatic synchronisation** and its **frequency**
- **Purge old data**: automatically deletes synced offers past a given delay
- **Sync documents**: product photos and images, PDF documents
- **Storage used**: space taken up on the device

> **Tip:** If the storage used grows large, the purge and turning off product document sync are the two most effective levers. The purge only touches offers already saved on the server.

### Interface tab

- **Language**: choose among 6 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch)
- **Dark mode**
- **Price display**: excl. tax or incl. tax in quick creation
- **Navigation app**: application used to open customer addresses
- **Application version**

## Tips to get started

1. **Sync over Wi-Fi** before leaving for an appointment so your data is up to date
2. **Install the PWA** on your home screen for quick access
3. **Offline mode works on its own**: create your offers even with no network
4. **Sync regularly** to save your offers on the server
